February Class Newsletter

We've had a busy winter season! We are excited about the enthusiasm for events both locally, regionally, and nationally that keep providing awesome racing in both fleet racing and team racing disciplines.

We're looking forward to the culmination of the winter season with the Fleet Race Midwinters! 152 boats are signed up! We've also opened up the Triple Crown registration again, and we've updated the NOS to make it more competitive up and down the results page.

As you sharpen your high school sailing skills in the spring, we've got a busy summer cooking with events in Texas, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Ontario, Canada and New York. With all those regattas, you should get your practice in! We've got clinics on our calendar for fleet racing and team racing. When planning out your summer, remember that registrations for our events open 90 days before the first day of racing at 12pm EST/EDT.

As we look ahead, we're excited to plan our North American championship for 2026 at Port Credit Yacht Club in Ontario, Canada. Get your passport renewed, check the grease in your trailer axles, and figure out the easiest border crossing for you to make your way North!

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT

We have added one more event to our summer schedule and we have one more that we are still working on.

The 2025 South Shore Championship will be hosted by Bellport Bay Yacht Club and the Long Island Maritime Museum, August 2-3. BBYC will be running the event and the boats will be stored at the Museum. This event is planned as a warm up for the Open North Americans. More info to come.

The 2025 Team Race Midwinters for the Liam O'Keefe Trophy had a great showing of 11 teams. The sailors enjoyed great breeze and it was great to see so many of Liam's friends, family and teammates supporting the event. Congratulations to Sibling Rivalry on their win!

The Florida State Championship was last weekend with 35 boats. Thank you Melbourne Yacht Club for running a great event!

US Sailing Center Martin County is our C420 Midwinters, Feb 15-17. It is on track to be one of our biggest events!

Some of our summer Notice of Races will be coming out this month. Read them over to find out registration dates and arrival instructions including when can you show up at their venue.
