2022 Midsummer Update

Hello Club 420 sailors, parents and coaches! We are about halfway through another fantastic summer of sailing and we have a lot for you still to come.

EVENTS

So far this summer we’ve had two major events, the C420 New England and National championships. For New Englands, the class returned to one of our favorite venues on Cape Cod, Wianno Yacht Club and boy did they deliver. Two days of racing with a variety of conditions allowed the race committee to get in eight races total. Our 2022 C420 National Championship just concluded in Long Beach, CA. With 86 boats racing, this was the class’s second largest west coast regatta in history!

Coming up we have Canadian National Championships at Port Credit Yacht Club, an excellent fresh water venue with an accessible and spectacular location; North American Championships at Buffalo Canoe Club, another excellent fresh water venue; CJ Buckley National Team Racing Championship in East Greenwich RI, the most fun event of the summer, the South Shore Championships at Sayville YC, our big breeze venue of the summer, and finally back out west, Pacific Coast Championship at Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club.

Registration links, results and Triple Crown standings can be found on our website www.clug420.org.

CLINICS

For some sailors who weren’t quite ready to head to the west coast for a major event, the class ran a skill building clinic at New Bedford Yacht Club run by head clinic coach Esteban Forrer. Stay tuned for additional clinics with our great coaches.

TRIPLE CROWN REGISTRATION

This year marks the ninth edition of the Triple Crown Series. The series recognizes those sailors who performed the best throughout the calendar. As in the past, the series requires a free registration in order to be counted. In order to be as inclusive as possible, we are extending the registration deadline to August 5th at 1000. To register for the Triple Crown, please click here: Triple Crown Registration
